Warm-Ups
Warm-ups prepare our bodies and minds
for our Joytime Yoga Adventure.
Body warm-ups, voice warm-ups,
breathing and reminders are outlined below.
Remember
* Move slowly and deliberately into each position. Slow motion practice is best!
* Work the left and the right sides of the body evenly.
* Always wait 30 minutes after eating before starting a Yoga Adventure.
* Keep distractions to a minimum, a good idea to turn off the TV!
* Yoga is not a competition and all efforts should be applauded.
* Stop if you feel any discomfort, never overstretch or strain your body.
*The positions contained in this book are intended for healthy, active children and adults.
* Check with your doctor if you are unsure about your physical condition before attempting any new activity.
Breathing
Breath awareness is gently encouraged and included as part of the Yoga Adventure. Children are encouraged to "keep breathing" if they remain in the yoga postures.

Voice Warm-Ups
Charge up your chakras, clear your mind; promote deep breathing and have a clear, confident speaking voice.
Use your normal speaking voice to practice the tones below.
Try covering your ears or closing your eyes once you have become familiar with them.
Voice warm-ups are done in a crossed legs position.
Body Warm-Ups
Body warm-ups are done in slow motion from a standing position.
Warning: Yoga can be addictive...
side effects are health and happiness!
